Architects

As your comprehensive prime residential air conditioning partner, we provide an end-to-end design and delivery service including local authority condenser planning applications, fully detailed design including drawings and CGIs, system installation, and coordination with other trades. A second-generation company trading since 1975, our design-led process, tailored to ease the complex architectural integration of air conditioning into homes, has made us a key specialist for many architects.

Condenser Planning Applications

Our comprehensive condenser planning application service condenses the usual process involving several different specialists, into a single package with one point of contact. We specify the condenser, select the ideal site location, carry out the 24-hour sound survey to determine environmental impact, prepare the acoustic report, specify any necessary acoustic enclosures/screens, issue technical details and drawings for the plant/enclosure, issue site/plant location drawings and provide recommended wording for the application, ready for you to submit as a complete package to the local authority.

CPD

Drawing on experience of designing, installing and maintaining climate control systems in hundreds of residential properties, our CPD addresses the 5 most common challenges experienced by architects when trying to integrate air conditioning into luxury properties. We are pleased to offer this expertise either as a lunch-and-learn, or online.

Full technical design

Involvement from RIBA Stage 2 allows us to coordinate with the whole team to achieve a cooling system design that matches the original brief, doesn’t compromise on space or aesthetics, and doesn’t result in significant variations occurring during stage 4/5. Working as a specialist consultant, we undertake the full design of the air conditioning system including equipment selection and services integration, floorplan drawings, detailed joinery drawings and CGIs, access and control planning. We work alongside the M&E consultant (if one is appointed) to integrate our air conditioning design into their mechanical and electrical design to enable a fully workable solution

Acoustics & Noise Reduction

With noise from internal units being the biggest objection to air conditioning in the residential market, we place great emphasis on ensuring that sound outbreak is addressed and minimised. At design stage on every project, we ensure the client is aware of the likely sound levels in each room from their system, and offer solutions to acoustically treat any units that are in sound-sensitive areas. Through correct design, it is possible to achieve a full cooling solution that is virtually inaudible. This, combined with a beautifully discreet aesthetic, enables perfect, cool, quiet comfort throughout the home.

Discreet Aesthetics

We preserve the architectural integrity of the project by ensuring that the visual impact of the system is minimal. From bespoke diffuser design within cornice detailing, to integrating slots into coffered or recessed ceilings and developing an unobtrusive access strategy, we ensure that the air conditioning system is discreetly integrated without compromising aesthetics.

Drawings / CGIs

Detailed drawings and optional CGIs are an important part of our design process. From initial floor plan markups and working drawings indicating equipment locations, through to detailed pipework and services routes, joinery drawings and sections, and post-project as-built drawings, we provide a service where the end result is guaranteed to match the aesthetic agreed upon at design stage.

Coordination of services

Not only do we undertake full design of our system, we also coordinate with all other members of the project team. Consulting with structural engineers and wider MEP contractors to establish feasible services routes and adequate power supplies, we liaise with all parties to ensure a seamless end result.
